Sometimes a spot of peaceful FT8 and WSPR, outside, under the verandah, is just pleasant. Lovely warm day, so why not! It was way too hot to be in the direct sunlight, so the verandah is the ideal place to hide from the heat on the 9th of August, 2022, at the G8PHM QTH in Otford, Kent.
A Dell Latitude E5450, running Windows 10, with wsjtx. A long wire, counterpoise, and transformer with loading is visible on the right. The station also includes an LDG 817 autotuner, and an SCU-17 for the data interface to the Yaesu FT817. The SCU-17 is underneath the FT817 on the picture. A Loko 12v PSU is visible in the background. The iPad has no particular function!
This is my preferred portable setup, great for data, and the FT817 also provides for 6, 2 and 70 cms, all modes. Great for the local repeater or FM net.
