We'll be launching our new Background Noise program next Tuesday. The first event will be an On-Air look at how mixers work. This session is fully open to members of the club and wider radio amateurs. All materials will be published on the website for information.

Subject: "Mixers, how do they really work?"
Date: 22/9/2020
Time: 7:30pm local, 1830 UTC
Geo-location: Otford, TN14
Frequency & channel: 145.475 - V38
Polarisation: Vertical
Net controller: G8PHM
This net will discuss a pictorial, geometric proof of why we get (f1 + f2) and (f1 - f2), out of a mixer stage.
This is not generally explained on amateur radio courses, yet we almost all have at least one mixer in our radios, so wouldn't it be great to find out more!
There will be an accompanying document with diagrams, which you can follow on your phone, PC or printout.
This is a radio net, all members will be encouraged to question and comment, or simply listen in and enjoy. Even if you already understand this subject very well, it would be great to hear you on the net anyway.
